Since a Missouri KKK group began making threats of lethal force against the Ferguson protesters last week, calling them “terrorists” and promising violent retaliation if any action is taken by protesters following the outcome of police officer Darren Wilson’s grand jury decision, ANONYMOUS has taken on the despicable organization head-on. The awesome internet activist group is aiming to reveal the identities of KKK members as well as hack and take down their websites and social media. As of Nov. 16th, the official Twitter accounts of the KKK USA are under the control of Anonymous, and at 3:00 GMT they made the following statement on the @KuKluxKlanUSA account:

Call me Canadian, but why the fuck is the KKK allowed any official voice at all? I enjoy living in a place where if you have something to say that’s anathema to humanity and fundamentally ignorant, we aren’t forced to hear it. Despite cries of “free speech,” the USA has become the biggest Big Brother state in the “developed” world. As an acknowledged hate group, spewing hate speech, the KKK needs to be eradicated, not invited to speak on MSNBC. And is it just me, or does it sound like everyone’s trying to prepare us for Wilson not to be indicted?

You may enjoy the Canadian government picking and choosing what is considered harmful for you and your country(sounds pretty Big Brother like), i will take my right to decide on my behalf(oh I know there’s plenty of censorship here in the U.S.). Now, yes the KKK is poisonous but many would say the same thing about the music a lot of us enjoy or the Anonymous group that is outing KKK members, or even Cult Nation. These conversations become a slippery slope, where do you(or you government draw the line?). As a dual US/Canadian citizen, I can tell you honestly that, while many Americans have kept their eye on the government, corporations snuck through the door and they are now “Big Brother.” We no longer have a Democracy. Our country is a functional Oligarchy.
The KKK is a terrorist organization, and if they were not white people, they would have been declared a terrorist organization and exterminated a long time ago.
The KKK is out of their depths in a fight with Anonymous, and that’s good.

I completely agree it is wrong for these media outlets to give the kkk such a public platform, however to say people are being forced to watch it is very melodramatic, you can always just change the channel.
BTW, who in Canada is in charge of deciding what is “anathema to humanity”? That sounds a bit fascist to me if how you put it is true. Also, it just doesn’t make sense to make an opinion that America is this “Big Brother” state and then call for a group to be eradicated just because of what they believe.
Also, I find it terribly hypocritical the kkk’s violent rhetoric is shown to be such a big deal, but there is nothing said about organizations like the “RBG Black Rebels” who have advocated the use of violence as well.
I also do agree though that we are being prepared for Wilson to not be indicted and that is simply because there is no reason for him to be, and as many in Ferguson have shown, people don’t want to listen to reason.

OK, yes, I was being melodramatic when I said “forced to watch,” but if you’ve watched any TV in the US, you know that changing the channel usually doesn’t change the message, especially when it comes to the mainstream news.
“Hate speech” and “hate propaganda,” and by extension hate groups, are clearly defined and legislated against in Canada’s laws and in our constitution, which prohibits discrimination based on “race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, disability and conviction for which a pardon has been granted.” You can criticize your government and your society all day, in the media, on a platform, but if you march down the street in white hoods trying to incite a race war, you’re going to jail. In fact, if you said any of the things that are often said in US right wing media about immigrants/terrorists/muslims you would most likely be fired and prosecuted and your media outlet boycotted by the public.

Thank you for taking the time to explain that, I appreciate it.
And although I understand the logic, I find it odd that you are okay with that. America has hate crime laws too but they follow the commission of an actual crime. I dislike the kkk just as much as you do, but they do for the most part follow the law, which is more then one could say about many left wing extremist groups.
I am also never not going to take exception with people thinking that being left wing can’t be taken to hateful and violent extremes and being right wing automatically means that you are hateful (and vice versa of course). In fact, although I don’t have the information in front of me, there is an argument to say left wing extremist groups are actually more prone to violence. For example, in the midst of all the talking a group like the kkk does, it is left wing groups like ELF that very typically act out in violent and criminal ways to spread their message.
Case in point, the entire situation in Ferguson was well exacerbated by black supremacist and left wing extremist groups before the kkk decided to pipe in, like my one example showed, the RBG Black Rebels were insinuating violence against specific people with talk of bounties and what not.
