COLOMBIAN NECKTIE Review

Fuck it, I’m going out on a limb with this review…here it goes Colombian Necktie is a super rad band from the city of Lost Angels & I must say they have a sound that is pretty original. Although I hope they do not take this the wrong way, but they remind me of one my favorite bands, AT THE DRIVE IN. I can explain what these two bands have in common: they share high levels of open-mindedness, plus both bands have vast amounts of emotion in their music. Now the rest of this review will be all about Colombian Necktie: did I tell you that this band kicks ass? The singer has this sneering demonic delivery that is pretty catchy, you can feel his anguish, but then you also hear his hope. You can’t take any of their songs at face value, because Colombian Necktie can switch it up at the drop of a dime, which I find totally refreshing. I hear the sound of the city in their creative spirit. These dudes write & play some heavy shit, but their songs are flexible. They bring the groove factor into all of their tunes, plus melody is never to far behind. Colombian Necktie also gets my weirdo big up’s for their all piano numbers. Honestly, I think it’s difficult to stand out in the genre of hardcore, but these guys do more than stand out, they have created their own lane, respect due!
