Carlo Mollino was many things in his lifetime; from a world-renowned architect, to a student of the occult, to a race car driver, to a furiture designer. When he died in 1973, his estate discovered his secret stash of erotic Polaroids. Carlo would pay Turin’s ladies of the night to pose for him at his apartment, where he would also have them wear clothes that he picked out specially for the shoot. Mollino was described as an “erotomaniac” and “feckless” – for whatever reason, he never left home, and stayed under his father’s roof, but this did not stop him from fantasizing and taking over a 1000 Polaroids of women. When looking at his photos, it is evident that Carlo had a good eye and was an artist who saw the world in a way that only he could. Take a step into the dimly lit world of erotica captured by Mollino.
