THE ENDLESS EMPTINESS – COLD BODY RADIATION

I suppose it was only a matter of time before antipodal genres like Shoegaze and Black Metal began to mix (my fingers even bent backwards writing that because it seems so inaccurate ). Utilizing aphelion like Space Echos and Reverse Reverb to achieve an atmosphere of isolation and frost turns out to be much more effective than the tried and true approach of running the masters through a Talkboy. One of the progenitors to ascend the caves of Black-gaze(?) is Cold Body Radiation from the Netherlands, check them out after the fall

Cold Body Radiation : Loss

This band is actually the product of one man, but it still sounds about as powerful as plunging from a plane at 60,000 Ft. endlessly falling through the beautiful and freezing clouds as gravity gains the reins and you plummet and merge with the infinite. The sorrow of the end coming into your sights coupled with the beauty of your dreamlike surroundings is exactly what Cold Body Radiation sounds like.

“THE GREAT WHITE EMPTINESS”

It’s complex and riveting yet direct and ultimately tragic. It has such a phenomenal melancholia to it that you might as well start writing your suicide note now. Songs like “Loss” convey the vastness of the pacific ocean with an unusual amount of claustrophobia. The sound is such and extreme out pour of emotion and quite an experience. I would advice copious amounts of hash or potent marijuana before drifting into the Great White Abyss.
