Unholy fuck, I really dig taking flicks of epic live gigs, and especially of bands with radical frontmen. Toronto’s Fucked Up happen to be one of those bands, and Damian Abraham is one of those singers that I enjoy taking photos of, because he gives 200% every fucking performance! As a unit, Fucked Up brings the electricity every second they are on stage. You might not like them, but after seeing Fucked Up live you will be forced to give them the respect they deserve as a live band! This is a band that makes the audience feel like they are another member, and from where I come from that’s punk as fuck. Beyond all this, they make some killer music that always gets the party started. On a personal note, Damian taught my teenage daughter a life lesson – you can be a dude who bashes himself in the head with a mike, and who strips down to his underwear, and despite all this madness, you are just a normal fun-loving human! I have been pretty lucky to photograph some of their stellar Los Angeles gigs, and at one of them they were joined onstage by Keith Morris!
