Sutekh Hexen
Summer/Autumn Tour Fundraiser

If you are a fan of underground music, depending on where you live, you may not get to see your favorite bands that often. Touring is super expensive, and bands usually aren’t compensated too well at the shows, so a lot of their expenses come out of pocket. It’s hard to scrape together enough cash for a tour when your day job goes mostly to supporting yourself or your family. Sutekh Hexen is about to embark on their first cross-country tour this August, and have started a Kickstarter campaign to fund their tour. They have some amazing giveaways for their backers, ranging from a button/sticker pack for the lowest pledge up to gifts of CDs, LPs, t-shirts, posters and even your name in their liner notes of their upcoming full-length. To support these guys and get some awesome collectables, check out their Kickstarter campaign page. More info about the campaign and gifts, plus tour dates, after the jump…

Sutekh Hexen are embarking on their first tour throughout the United States given a unique opportunity to share spaces with highly celebrated acts including Jesus and the Mary Chain, Sunn O))), Built to Spill etc. at Hopsotch Music Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina. In an attempt to aid our travels, Sutekh Hexen would like to extend this campaign to those interested in our project in hope of some reciprocal support.

The cleansing of the soul, the welcoming of death, the capacity to enter into communion with the Beyond: Sutekh Hexen hover over the last and lowest of musical emanations in the realm of subterranean silence.

The pleasant machinery of the myth concerning Sutekh Hexen should perhaps begin to be unpacked with the admission that mystical initiations of another kind can be achieved for few by conscious inquiry alone.

In severing the junction between the macabre and the grotesque, Sutekh Hexen are crafting a cumulative verbiage to residually haunt and reform the indeterminate nature of their melodies. Yet, to the enrichment and confusion of the subject, the Sutekh Hexen persuasion conceals what it appears to reveal.

The performance in question is not a ritual act but a manifestation of a poetic rhapsody, composed ad hoc to edify the sectary. Sutekh Hexen are advancing a new methodology to noise, one that bases itself on a platform of parasitic melancholia and continues to reject the primacy of sonic restraint.
