Sonic Cathedrals Vol. XXXI
Curated by Harassor

CVLT Nation is ultraexcited and stoked to announce that the Sonic Cathedrals Mixtape Series Vol. XXXI Curated by Harassor goes live today. This mixtape is the straight jam and will open your mind for sure. I totally dig the way that they shared all of their influences with their song selection. Harassor is one of the most gnarliest bands in Los Angeles and this mixtape shows why. Now download Sonic Cathedrals Vol. XXXI after the jump & blast this sonic portrait of change beyond loud…THE ATTACK OF THE WEIRDOS IS ON…WHERE DO YOU STAND?

Pete:
“I’ve increasingly become more interested in dark electronic and goth music these days.  I’ve got a weak spot for sad bastard music.  I certainly can stretch these genres from indie rock to minimal wave, death rock, synth pop etc.  The few songs I chose for the mix are more or less a representation of music I’m currently jamming and excited about.”

James:
“I was raised on the thrash metal sounds of the late-80’s, before moving into underground death and black metal, and grindcore. I am pleased to now see a new generation picking up the mantle of old-school thrash assaults, creating a raw, dirty, and evil sound like the old days. To me, metal is a dish best served filthy and lo-fi, and I am happy to present a selection of current underground thrash acts that fit the bill, with an old classic or two thrown in for good measure!”

Sandor:
“I was the last Harassor to come up with my selections.  At first I was gonna do “all nekro black metal” – which I consider my “soul music” and frankly wouldn’t have a problem making hours and hours of mixtapes of such.  However I decided to mix it up substantially, as my musical influences are not limited to any stylistic ghettoes.  I’m sharing very specific songs from specific artists that have a specific meaning to me – and I feel they also will to YOU.
I included a new Harassor tune as an exclusive track for the disciples of Sonic Cathedrals: “Night On My Side” – recorded live to cassette tape by Bobb Bruno of Best Coast.”

That be it!
Thanks- Sandor  / Pete / James
