Solve Et Coagula…THE SECRET

Today I want to use this time to talk about one of my favorite albums of 2010. The name of the band is The Secret, & the name of the album is Solve Et Coagula, via Southern Lord. This record was so fucking hard it could crush granite. I’m not even going to tag this band with any kind of labels because they totally destroyed them all with this release. What I can tell you is that the songs on Solve Et Coagula race through your bloodstream so fast, you might even think your muscles have grown after repeated listens. The Secret figured out a way to harness all of their anguish, agony, rage, cryptic thoughts & blackened happiness, then put it to tape for all of our chaotic enjoyment! These dudes don’t even play their instruments, it sounds like they have them under some kind of spell where they command them via mind control. I can’t understand the singer’s words, but I do hear & feel his pain, which totally has me transfixed. This is the kind of music the government keeps from the masses because they know it will awaken them. One thing that stands out to me about their songs is that you can tell that this band has an open mind when it comes to the music they listen to – like I would not be surprised if they were Spacemen 3 fans (I could be wrong, but i don’t think so). This is one of my favorite records because every time I put it on, it seems like the first time. Now it’s no secret, HAIL The Secret. After the jump there is a little epic surprise…
