Hi, what are you looking for?

Blackened Crust

Six Heretic Anthems for the Deaf…
DEAF KIDS

Unholy triple six…the DEAF KIDS from Brazil are super fucking rad. They have a new EP out called Six Heretic Anthems for the Deaf – pay attention to every song on this record, it’s more than killer, it’s fucking ballistic. DEAF KIDS play the type of blackened hardcore that is my sonic drug of choice. You know me, I really dig when a band has that what the hell factor & this band has it. Their music has the force to ignite fires & slay the corrupt masses in the process. DEAF KIDS are wise to incorporate the black arts of the voodoo melody into their sound, meaning: yeah, they bring the rage non-stop, but don’t forsake the blackened melodic overtones in their songwriting. Damn, this band draws blood with the sharpness of their riffs, which will have you wanting to hear more for sure! This band uses hardcore as the foundation for what they do, but they take it way beyond that. DEAF KIDS’ vocalist screams with the fury of the howling wind that precedes the last daze. Check this out, when you hear them unleash “Heretic Anthem #1” on you, there is no way you will not be hooked. I’ve got to give it to the drummer – this human bangs out the sounds that I like to call the drums of war, that will have the weak hearts quake in their boots. If I had the resources, I would sign this band in a heartbeat, that’s for sure; but what I can do is make sure they have a spot on the next CVLT Nation Blackened Everything Vol. 4 mixtape. On the real, I’m asking all of our readers to check this band out & if you like what you hear let them know that. After the jump, check out some superdelic live footage of the DEAF KIDS!

Never, ever heard this band before, and as it seems a one-man-band to that.
Heretic #3 is extremely well composed, dark and gritty. Well done CVLT for taking this up.
Hopefully a physical copy will come out for sale.
Will keep my eyes open and listen to this shit for a long time.

Hey, this band fuckin’ kills. I can personally tell that, since I’m the live drummer nowadays (not the one on the video).

I’ll tell you why this band kills, murder and rapes.

Well, first – It combines the sheer raw punk anger of ‘simple’ acts like Destino Final/Invasion, with the rockin’ complexity of Born Against (and the vicious rockin’ tempos), and the reverbing vocals of Kuro and GISM.

You even have the time for that stoner-alike interlude in the middle of the EP.

Second – The idea behind the whole concept (musical, asthetical, lyrical) of the band comes from ONE PERSON. A 19 YEARS OLD PERSON.

Third – If that’s not enough, I’ll reveal why I said ‘nowadays live drummer’… The band IS THIS GUY. Only.
He records EVERYTHING. He writes everything. He DOES EVERYTHING. He calls us for live shows, and we bang HIS Heretic Anthems.

Anyways, I’m a huge friend, and a huge fan of him (Dovglas is the name of the mastermind)… And if this album ever see the light physically, BUY IT. STEAL IT. MURDER FOR IT. But this guy is a genious. He makes great music in a way that makes it look easy.

He plays in this other two bands – http://www.myspace.com/homemelefante83 (Homem Elefante, a band in the rockin’ vein of Born Against, Black Flag, Poison Idea. That sleazy Sabbathical vein that you can feel on Anihilation Time and Pissed Jeans. He’ the Drummer)

http://thealchemists.bandcamp.com/ (The Alchemists, a melodic punk band in the vein of Vicious, with that amazing touch of Adolescents and Agent Orange. He’s the ‘solo’ guitar)
