Shout and Scream…A BATCAVE Short Flim

The year was 1982 & the little demons were looking for a new place to have fun; Ollie Wisdom knew they needed a new scene. So the Batcave was born on the dank streets of Soho in London, & no one knew they were about to make history. This place became ground zero for everything deathrock, positive punk & goth, the environment that made all the groovy ghoulie weirdos feel normal. Plus, the Batcave was fertile ground for any bands of the day to find out what they were made of. Specimen, Alien Sex Fiend, Sex Gang Children & Southern Death Cult all rocked this club at some point while it was open. What really made this the place to be was the fashion circus took place every week. It’s pretty hard to describe, just put it this way, anything went. Keep in mind this was London in the early 80’s, & it was a real depressing city. The Batcave offered these youngsters an escape even if it was only for a night. CVLT Nation would like to share this short documentary about this scene with you watch it a couple times because you might miss something the first time. After the jump, check out this vintage footage & some flicks from this era.
