I will always like old school thrash metal because it’s a part of my childhood and my DNA. It also makes me think of being 15 on the steps of Mcateer High in San Francisco with a crew of weirdos – a mix of skaters, freaks, punks, stoners and metal heads. We all were unified by our love for outsider music, and one band that got us all hyped was POSSESSED because of that punch-a-cop-in-the-face speed metal that we all fucking lived for. Another thing about this band is that they were close to our age, so it was extra cool seeing your peers killing shit. On any given weekend, we all would make our way to Ruthies Inn or the Farm to check out POSSESSED, Exodus, Death Angel, Verbal Assualt C2D and many others. We never knew that POSSESSED would go on to create a classic record, but they did with Seven Churches. Today CVLT Nation wants to celebrate the game-changing band POSSESSED with a slashing video essay of footage from the 80’s. So after the jump, all evil warriors stand up and peep how the crowds would go crazy!
