Pyrokinesis, Telekinesis, Levitation and Telepathy… The Magus of Java

With financing from the BBC and Ringo Starr, Lorne and Lawrence Blair set off from England to Indonesia in 1972 to create their award winning documentary ‘Ring of Fire: An Indonesian Odyssey’. Along their journey, Lorne contracted an eye infection. Taking the advice of locals, they went to see a Chinese-Javanese acupuncturist named John Chang. He demonstrated full mastery of the phenomenon of Chi, or bio-energy, by generating an electrical current within his body. As John Chang transferred his Chi through acupuncture needles, Lorne’s body began to uncontrollably twitch. Miraculously, his eye infection had been healed. Other members of the film crew were still skeptical, so John Chang manifested some other examples to illustrate his power. He asked the skeptics to touch his hand or dantian (area right below the belly button), as he created an undeniable electric charge which physically shocked them. The most impressive act was yet to follow. John Chang proceeded to ball up a piece of newspaper; he then transferred energy through his hand into the newspaper and lit it on fire. Just to note, this was long before CGI. John Chang claims that everyone is capable of such feats. He says through meditation and discipline, anyone can learn to activate and control their yin and yang (positive and negative) energies. He does not profit monetarily from using his powers to heal, and tries to help as many people as he can daily. He has only accepted five apprentices, the second being a mechanical engineer named Kosta Danaos. Kosta was able provide scientific explanations for the pyrokinesis, telekinesis, levitation, telepathy and other paranormal abilities he witnessed. He was able to take what he learned during his apprenticeship with John Chang and write a book entitled The Magus of Java: Teachings of an Authentic Taoist Immortal. Watch the clip from the documentary I described below, and I highly recommend checking out the book as well.
