No One Gives a Shit: KOMPLOTT – “Sei Vivo, Sei Morto A Nessuno Importa”, Review + Stream

In Italian, “sei vivo, sei morto a nessuno importa” literaly means “whether you are alive or dead no one gives a shit”. This should give you an idea of what KOMPLOTT sound like. Pure, emaciated, unadulterated, starving and corrosive ultra-violent gutter punk from on of the lost capitals of Italian (and modern) hardcore – Milan, in northern Italy. Formed by current and former members of Giuda, Horror Vacui and Holy, KOMPLOTT are one of those bands who’s urgency, incumbency and full-blown anger are something you simply can not fuck with. This band has sacrificed everything – the form, the sound, the execution and even composition – to convey all its energies in one single focal point: pure and unadulterated socially-charged fucking wrath.

So if the sound and songs seem extremely stripped down and essential, rest assured that the lyrics, the aesthetic, and the overall attitude of this band dig way deeper than the average punk and hardcore music you typically see around you. In fact, KOMPLOTT‘s music is nothing short of super-charged anthems of pure fucking urban rage. And that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be. If a band has the message that these guys have to deliver, we wouldn’t want to the music to sound like anything else, we just want it to sound as emaciated, blown out and as fucking corroded as possible, just so we can remind ourselves where this music comes from and what the human gutter it is trying to describe feels like. If you have any doubts about what this band is all about, just read some of the song titles. Titles like “Non Esistenza” (“Non Existence”) and “Casa, Lavoro, Cimitero” (“Home, Work, Cemetary”) are unmistakable statements about how repulsive and hellish life and existence can be when they find them selves up against things like power, organized religion and political control. Influences are of course Italian favorites/legends like Nerorgasmo, Church of Violence, Wretched and so on, as well as brit-punk/anarco-punk stalwarts like Crass and Conflict. There’s no fucking antics here, no games and no show, just raw as fuck, ultra-pissed gutter punk loaded with meaning. You’re either with these guys or against them, so get into it.
