Poster Art

One of the things taking up more and more wall space in my house every day is the silkscreened gig poster. I’m happy to see a resurgence of this art form in the past few years – bands are taking the time to search out talented artists in cities around the world, and the money to invest in producing affordable works of art for their fans, especially in underground metal. EyeHateGod is one band that has rad silkscreened gig posters spanning the past two decades, and has worked with some of my favorite illustrators. To close out EHG week, I want to share some epic artwork with you; unfortunately, none of it is hanging on my walls, but these are all artists I plan to add to my collection in the near future – make sure to head to their sites and webstores to buy their work directly from the source. After the jump, check out work by the highly talented Malleus, Glyn Smyth, Brian Mercer, Arik Roper, Dilek Baykara, Allen Jaeger and Kill Hatsumomo. I also threw in a couple that I like but have no idea who the artist is, so if anyone can enlighten me it would be much appreciated…also, I just want to say that EHG has put out so many rad posters and flyers that I couldn’t possibly post them all…these are just my personal favorites.

Thanks! – Some of the greatest guys I ever worked for – genuinely and sincerely interested and appreciative.
As an artist and a musician myself, I know what goes into poster making – all of these artists are extremely talented
