KILLING JOKE

What is a classic album? Killing Joke’s Killing Joke is a fucking classic album. Everything about this record is on point – it’s over 30 years old & still sounds like it’s music for the future. This record captured the true spirit of punk better than most bands with spiked hair & studded jackets. Jaz, to me, was an urban shaman of his time; his vocal delivery was beyond soulful and I believe he represents the forgotten beings of humanity that want to scream & shout. Each word he wrote had the meaning of a million. The guitar was Sabbath riffs played by a drugged-up voodoo witch doctor. Killing Joke‘s drumming patterns were machine-like with their precision & as powerful as silence. Plus bass on top of more bass all in your fucking face. This album has that transcendent sense that unified metal heads, hardcore punk kids & goths in their love of Killing Joke. If you have never heard this record, stop what you are doing now & listen!     A masterpiece, a friend of mine bought this lp in 1984 and we listened to it non stop. It was and still is so different

    The Joke!! This is one of my favorite records, I am very fortunate to own a 1st pressing vinyl copy.. What’s cool is that they’re still fucking amazing live, any time I go to see Killing Joke I see a sea of smiles ear to ear… If you can get to Vegas for Punk Rock Bowling in late May they will be appearing there.. well worth the trip IMO!
