The corrupt heads of state will get their just due one day at the hands of the downpressed! One band that screamed this fact loud was Portland’s Severed Head of State. This band has members from some of the sickest crust & dis-beat bands, which totally strengthens their musical foundation. Severed Head of State are on another plane when comes to creating eardrum-shattering metallic crust. These are the kind of tunes that make me feel the fight is still on. While many crust bands lean towards Discharge for their inspiration, Severed Head of State are one of those crust bands that have Motorhead in their veins. Not only that, but underneath their anger they still create emotional riffs & epic basslines that have dirge boogie.
