Battle lines have been drawn are you ready for war? Well, you better fucking get ready because the new ALL PIGS MUST DIE album is an all-out death match entitled God Is War out August 16, 2011 via Southern Lord. Hold on, I have to stop head banging so I can write this review, and that’s going to be super hard because this record is bangadelic awesome. Straight up & down, this record is 8 songs of pure blackened hate, it’s hardcore with a d-beat outer shell to cause more damage to your eardrums. Nothing about God Is War is for the faint at heart – this is sonic mayhem for those that like to rage. Actually, ALL PIGS MUST DIE created an album that is audio nitroglycerin – from the time you press play, this band is on a fucking rampage. With all of the speed that this album has, the band still manages to conjure up these moments of subversive melodic flurries that keeps the evil groove flowing so our heads will keep snapping! Check out the song “Third World Genocide” – it starts off with this killer drum beat then a sick riff takes over before the onslaught is let loose. I would not say that ALL PIGS MUST DIE really slow shit down, but they do have these killer dirgy parts to their songs that make you feel like your skin is melting. This album is so fucking rocking, if you blasted it in a grave yard all of the corpses would come back to life & you would have a boneyard party on your hands. The riffs on God Is War sound like they were played by the devils fingers & recorded in hell. To me it seems like the singer coated his voice box in zombie spit before he went into the vocal booth because all that he lets out is cold death itself. ALL PIGS MUST DIE are super rad, because you can tell that dig hardcore, metal & d-beat but what is really cool is that they were able to weave all of these sounds together to manifest their own audio mosaic of hate. These dudes also did a top notch job at song writing; the songs take really interesting twists & turns to keep you guessing. I swear when I listen to this album I feel like I’m in a tornado of blackened hate, but for some weird reason I just want it to keep spinning me around until my head rips off. I’ve got to say that I’m way stoked that I get to see them at this year’s Power of the Riff – I might be headless after the show, just another head banging casualty.

Fantastic read! Really good band, i hope that these guys make some big travels soon as i would love to see them here in New Zealand. Both albums are great, not one stinker, just a solid album and ep just wont get old.

Agreed. First EP was sick, hoping this one is even better! (And from the sound of the stuff they played at SXSW, it will be!)
