Poly Styrene was way more than just the singer of a punk band! She was example of a woman who lived in this world on her own terms. Poly Styrene captivated me from the first time I saw her on T.V. In 1979, the BBC created a very interesting documentary about her called Who Is Poly Styrene?. If any of my daughters looked up to her that would not be a problem at all. She also wrote some of the best lyrics to come out of the 1st generation of punk. Check out the really cool documentary Who Is Poly Styrene? after the jump!
