KATA SARKA Existential Oblivion

I’m not asking you, I’m telling you: one of the gnarliest tapes coming out this year is Kata Sarka‘S Existential Oblivion. which will be released via Auris Apothecary this Saturday, March 3rd, 2012, which also marks the label’s 3rd anniversary. Every moment of Existential Oblivion is perfect; KATA SARKA has hit their fucking stride with this collection of songs. This band writes songs that truly have the right balance between the feral energy of raw black metal, but they never lose site on their punk roots. This band’s songs are ultra dense, but the grooves are so sharp that they leave invisible scars in your memory – you can have this tape on repeat, and never get bored! When you hear how “Wearing The Rings Of Saturn As A Halo” literally reaches out of your speakers and drags you by the hair into its blistering fury, you’ll realize that this band can’t be fucked with. This song has some of the meanest howling vocals I’ve ever heard, but it’s the raging riffs from the underworld that get me extra hyped. Something that has always made me interested in KATA SARKA is their use of cryptic melody that creates these noir valleys of empathy. Our webzine is all about sharing what we consider to be killer music, and this band represents that to the extreme. CVLT Nation would like for you to hear KATA SARKA, and allow what you hear to shape how you feel about this sick band. If you are a fan of blackened crust that has been burnt in the glorious oven of middle earth, then on Saturday, March 3rd, you will find your way to the Auris Apothecary webstore, where only 180 of these cassettes are in existence, as well as some of their special 3rd anniversary offerings. After the jump, peep an eye-burning promo video and find out more about Existential Oblivion.
