Every moment of Existential Oblivion is perfect; KATA SARKA has hit their fucking stride with this collection of songs. This band writes songs that truly have the right balance between the feral energy of raw black metal, but they never lose site on their punk roots. This band’s songs are ultra dense, but the grooves are so sharp that they leave invisible scars in your memory – you can have this tape on repeat, and never get bored! When you hear how “Wearing The Rings Of Saturn As A Halo” literally reaches out of your speakers and drags you by the hair into its blistering fury, you’ll realize that this band can’t be fucked with. This song has some of the meanest howling vocals I’ve ever heard, but it’s the raging riffs from the underworld that get me extra hyped. Something that has always made me interested in KATA SARKA is their use of cryptic melody that creates these noir valleys of empathy.
