EVIL SPIRIT…
A Hidden Gem

Asking Zom for a playlist was one of the better things that I did past month. One of the key factors for becoming a great musician is musical taste or developing one such for that matter. When you look at the playlist that Zom created, consciously or sub- consciously you get the fact why Zom is one of the promising upcoming bands in death/black genre. You should definitely check out the list where you might find some new or old hidden gems. One of the bands from the list which I would like to bring into more attention that I heard for the first time and got impressed by quite a margin- Evil Spirit.

Evil Spirit is basically formed by the duo- Marcelo Aguirre (drums, vocals) and Ari Almeida (guitar)- taking a shot at traditional doom in the vein of Cathedral, The Obsessed etc with their own ideology and creativity. The three songs in the demo tape entitled L’Inferno (Sempiternal Punishment) drip eternal doom lust as if Pentagram ritual is taking place in candle- light. The riffs will strike you with the blades of slow moving turbine, the drums will penetrate your spirit bound flesh and the vocal deliveries will torture your moral intuition. Get in on the act now and become possessed by Evil Spirit.

Evil Spirit’s L’Inferno came out February 20th and it’s available now on Iron Bonehead Productions.

Check out the great cover art which was done by Daniel Desecrator after the jump!
