Everything Went Black…
BLACK FLAG
Rare Live Footage

Wild in the streets…that how we rolled. Who were we? Young Venice & Santa Monica punks. The year was 1983, and one band the represented the feelings of angst towards authority – Black Flag. I guess you could say I was pretty lucky that they were one of our home town bands & played out on the regular. One of the raddest Black Flag gigs was at the federal building in LA on a sunny afternoon. What was extra cool was that since the gig took place on federal land, the asshole L.A.P.D could not fuck with us! With all of the line-up changes, this band never lost their intensity (well, maybe the very last line-up sucked). Anyway, Black Flag in my book changed the game on so many levels, ie: putting on their own gigs, their flyer campaigns all over LA, their constant touring, and that led to more bands following their path. Their last couple of albums were basically the foundation of the sludge genre. So today we bring you some sick rare Black Flag live footage @ a house party on the westside of Los Angeles. After the jump, it’s our war…check out some killer flyers, flicks & live video footage!
