Din Of Celestial Birds

About 6 years ago, as i was exploring the depths of obscure film, i found the truly weird ‘Begotten’. And it left a permanent scar on me. It was true horror in the way that i had never devoted my visual and hearing sense to such an experience, the first time i did not even sit through it. Then sometime earlier this year i found out there was actually a second short film entitled “The Din Of Celestial Birds”, which is aimed to convey the birth of the consciousness and evolution. Scenes of what seems to be revolving dust clouds, growing flora, nematodes, and a decaying corpse. But one can decide what they see in it themselves, which is part of the non-typical filming technique.  Though not as harsh as the former, it is more experimental and atmospheric. Completely black and white and filmed only how Elias Merhige is capable of. It is a perfect film to let wash over you in extremely states of tiredness or subjectivity. With a quiet droning noise soundtrack that ebbs and flows in the background, it is also suitable to dub any dark ambient or funeral doom over for a more unique watching pleasure.
