Demo Of The Month
CHILD BRIDES
Misfortune & Eternal Darkness
Stream + Review

From the distorted ashes of LOW PLACES also featuring members of Seven Sisters of Sleep comes a new band called CHILD BRIDES. They have just released a new demo entitled Misfortune & Eternal Darkness that I have been blasting every day since I found out about it. CHILD BRIDES’ music smells like the back alleys of drug-infested downtown Los Angeles at night time, when everything is covered in piss and shit. You will feel this sensation of hopelessness come over your thoughts when their basslines start to punish your eardrums. They have figured out that less is more, so none of their songs are over-produced. When I hear CHILD BRIDES, I get the sense that if they didn’t create this demo, their mental monsters might eat them alive. The groove on the last song, “Chained,” sounds like DJ Screw is drinking Eyehategod in his styrofom cup! What really caught my attention about this band is the way that they are able to imbue their songs with industrial textures while never sounding contrived. Their singer, Vince, delivers on the mic, and you will experience his pain and anger with each listen. So here is the deal: download this demo fucking now, and then blaze a huge bowl of that Dr. Green Thumb. If the CHILD BRIDES are listening: make sure your new songs get even dirtier, with more feedback filth! Add up everything I wrote in this review, and then you will realize why Misfortune & Eternal Darkness is the demo of the motherfucking MONTH!
