I think it’s pretty clear by now that Black Flag album covers are to punk rock as Che Guevara’s head is to pseudo-political hippies. This is not to denigrate the accomplishments or integrity of this seminal band, but the ubiquity of their imagery is getting pretty ridiculous, and there are a ton of people out there wearing Black Flag tees who have little or no integrity, let alone respect for this band or the music and culture they helped to found. There are two ways to react to this: you can get really, really pissed off or you can laugh at it. Black Flag Shirts on Every Celebrity could produce either of these reactions in you, but I recommend laughing at how fucking ludicrous the idea of George W. Bush jogging in a Black Flag tee is, rather than getting pissed off at the pictures of Kanye West or Kylie Jenner wearing Black Flag tees. Or you can do both; scrolling through this Tumblr definitely provokes a range of emotions in me; sometimes I laugh, and sometimes I cry.
