Went a little non-traditional:
-CARCASS- SURGICAL STEEL (I don’t care who you are, this shit wrecks and is a stronger tour-de-force than they’ve ever been)
-Queens of the Stone Age- Like Clockwork (their strangest and yet still somehow most accessible work yet)
-ASG- Blood Drive (this band used to suck ass, but their relapse full length debut was in my player the most this year)
-Power Trip- Manifest Decimation (about as important as crossover gets in the year 2013)
– The Impalers- s/t (Austin TX Impalers) (another Austin band. Would have went for Toxic Holocaust but the little guys need some air too.)
-Broken Hope- Omen of Disease (These guys were overshadowed in the gore/death metal scene in the early 90’s by such obvious heavy-hitters as Cannibal Corpse, but the new album definitely finally brings them into their own and is about as memorable and catchy as the genre gets)
