Lovell and Edge have been creating music together since 2007, and have been a part of d-beat and hardcore projects Harbor Island Mutiny and Les Gants. Now they have created a bombastic 5-song EP, Laying on of Hands, that blazes out of your speakers and burns a hole in your eardrums. They Shall Take Up Serpents’ songs will smack you in the grill with caustic conviction and insightful lyrics about the human condition. What you will not be able to avoid with They Shall Take Up Serpents is the power of their tunes, and the interesting vocal samples that are interwoven throughout that act as the glue between the five different musical interludes that make up this EP.
