There are certain voices that take my imagination to other worlds, and one of them happens to belong to BJÖRK. I was around 14 when I heard her peace punk band K.U.K.L., and from that time until now I have been hooked. To say she is a free spirit is an understatement. In the world of pop music, BJÖRK is a creative being speaking with her own mind’s eye! Even with The Sugarcubes she created many tunes that will stand the test of time. When ear voice floats into my ear, I know that I’m hearing magic and I feel empowered to see the world on my own terms. Great list of great songs, but of course there’s so much more to her massive career. The video essay doesn’t mention anything from the last 13 years, harsh! Gling-Gló was worth the listen and her collaboration album with the Dirty Projectors might appeal to fans of K.U.K.L.
