Black Funeral…Orchid Live

I normally don’t do music posts, but today I had to. I love me some Sabbath-worship, and the album that I have been rocking constantly pretty much since February is Orchid‘s Capricorn. My 4-month-old, who is a doom connoisseur, rocks out on her little play-pad with Orchid blasting out of speakers above her head. Not to overly compare them to Sabbath – despite the bellbottoms and smooth, center-parted long hair, they have a sound that’s all their own. It’s menacing, dark rock that reflects the invisible totalitarian society we are living in. It’s dark riffs that open the portals of the underworld and suck the pope and his dirty cohorts into its lowest, most fiery pits. I like Orchid in the morning with my coffee, and at night with a fat bowl. Right now, they are far away from California, touring in Germany and Poland. Check out this rad live video of their song “Eastern Woman,” from their latest tour date in Bremen, Germany…the videographer was having a hard time keeping his head still, can’t blame him! Also check out their remaining tour dates after the jump.

Oct 26 Stacja Muzyczna Rampa – Goleniow, Poland

Oct 27 Kunstverein – Nuremberg, Germany

Oct 29 Hammer of Doom IV (Day 2) – Würzburg, Germany
