Hi, what are you looking for?

Crust

Bitches, leave.
– An interview with Boddicker… kind of…

Being that I was a male child of the 80s that grew up in relative solitude in a house that had cable (sometimes even premium channels!), when I was handed the assignment to review an EP from a band named BODDICKER, I instantly went “Wait a fucking second, Boddicker? As in Clarence “Can you fly Bobby” Boddicker? The initial and primary bad guy in motherfucking ROBOCOP?” Justifiably I was a little hesitant to believe that there were still people cool enough to even make that reference, let alone make it their band name. So I sent them an email to get some more information and confirm that it was indeed a Robocop reference. What follows is the full email, verbatim:

Hey James,

Boddicker formed in the early winter of 2012 in Old Detroit after years of friendship in the black market dealing rock, running guns, robbing liquor stores, and pimping male hookers to closet gay Republican congressmen and senators. Now

Boddicker is trapped in Indianapolis after a drug running route went awry thanks to previous Indiana governor, Mitch Daniels. Right now, we are trying to stage a coup of current Indiana governor, Mike Pence, and return to our homeland.

 Yours sincerely,

  Dick Jones

  CEO of OCP

Yeah… I know. It’s fucking awesome.

So at this point I’d already taken a listen to the tracks for their debut EP -False Flags- And for the sake of theme continuity, I’m just going to use this gif to perfectly and succinctly describe it :

So, obviously, I needed answers. Does Boddicker work for OCP? Is OCP directly funding illicit criminal activities? I contacted Dick Jones and was surprised to find out, that yes, all of these things are true. Boddicker works for Dick Jones, He’s the number two guy at OCP, and OCP runs the cops. Here’s what he had to say for himself, thinly veiled as an interview for a grind band.

SnakeOilGhost, reporter for CVLT Nation: What are Boddicker’s prime directives?

Dick Jones, CEO of OCP : To provide the soundtrack to killing cops, politicians, and bankers,
using the crust/grind/powerviolence template with an old school death
metal flavor. And to exploit DIY culture for OCP’s monetary gain.

How do they feel about the remake of Robocop coming out soon?

They don’t pay attention to bullshit.

What bands do you feel have influenced Boddicker’s sound the most?

UK and Swedish death metal/crust/grind, bay area powerviolence, swamp
sludge, and gangsta rap.

How many  times had you personally seen Robocop before the decision
was made to name the band after Clarence Boddicker?

Enough to live it.

There are rumors that there’s a new drug hitting the streets called
NUKE, do you think you and the band will be trying it out?

Try it? Son, you’re talking to the main distributor. And we’re wise
enough not to get high on our own supply.

What would YOU buy for a dollar?

NSA tabs on OCP
Blasphemy’s “Fallen Angel of Doom” Wild Rags version
Aaron Hernandez’s missing surveillance tape in his impending murder trial
and the opportunity to torture John McCain by making him give everyone in the OCP organization a high five.

Everyone I’d spoken to had told me Dick Jones was a shark, and they weren’t wrong, shortly after this he sent a hired killer to my house and shot the 2 hookers I’d hired for the night to send me a message, that message was this… Dick Jones runs this town and Boddicker is here to make sure that doesn’t change.
Message received, loud and clear.

Boddicker will be releasing their debut EP False Flag on tape through Root of Evil in the near future.

In the meantime check out their previous releases

And catch them appearing courtesy of OCP at Grind Your Fucking Dick Off in Minneapolis on Aug. 17th and November Coming Fire Fest in Milwaukee on Nov. 9th
