Don’t be fooled by the title…Alexander “Bad News” Brown is anything but bad news…his artwork will make your day, not fuck it up! Auckland, NZ based Brown has worked with bands like Nails, Corpsessed, Mitochondrion and Circle of Ouroborus, plus he did a fucking wicked poster for Sydney’s Evil Invaders Festival, happening June 10th & 11th. His work is mind-blowingly awesome to say the least. His details are so on point that I can see the pulsating, gyrating flesh on each of his creatures. They have that frightening beauty that makes you feel as if they are about to leap out and attack you. I especially like his shirt designs for Mitochondrion – the movement and texture of the “Plague Evocation” snake heart design communicates such a dark and evil feast, and the bird goddess design is just terrifying in the best way possible. I hope that CVLT Nation will have the pleasure of working with Brown on some t-shirt designs soon. Brown’s work has the perfect balance of esoteric mysticism and rotting death.
