I totally dig when music transports my being into another space & time or when music can’t be put into a box. One band that has the ability to paint different portraits of reality for me is ASH BORER – this California band is fucking superdelic. When I listen to their songs, I find myself pondering my past lives, when I existed in other era of history, riding horses through an ancient forest in the rain. ASH BORER creates these audio canyons with their songs that have ebbs & flows of emotion. At times, I feel like each instrument is playing its part in a great story that the band is telling. ASH BORER uses a blackened call & response effect in an indirect way between their instruments. This band works magic with the way that they are able to mold sonic atmosphere into different temperatures of sound. ASH BORER have been on an East Coast tour lately, & a couple of days ago they were in NYC where they performed an epic set at the The Acheron.
