In 2009, I got the chance to be a part of history, because I was on hand to witness the first show that Amebix ever performed in the US at the Echo in Los Angeles, their first show in 21 years. Was I disappointed in any way? Hell fucking no! All of those who were there will agree that something was in the air that night…Amebix pumped out apocalyptic tune after tune, and the crowd went bonkers – we were all on the cloud nine of crust. The living wizards of this genre stood before us, filling the room with their black magic. What really impressed me about this night was how I felt waves of unity taking us all over.
