“Ambient Light A.G.W.” …
TO THE DOGS Review

One of my favorite scorched earth underground labels, Winter & Throat, have fucking blown my mind again with their upcoming release by TO THE DOGS. This band is on a whole other level of blackened radness – their new album, entitled Ambient Light A.G.W., will be on repeat in the CVLT Nation “offices” for sure. Why is this band so killer? Because they create from a place of dark honesty, where they are not trying to be like anyone but themselves, plus they have originality for daze. TO THE DOGS are the perfect blend of metallic crust, hardcore punk & black metal; many of their songs have this unhinged feeling to them that makes it where you can’t take your ears away from the stereo. Let’s get this fact out there right quick – the singer is fucking awesome; his screams of mayhem can wake the dead without doubt. The drummer is a beast & pounds out catchy primitive bliss for the whole album. Songs like “Harvest/The Hunger Is Stronger Than Fear” are a great example of why this band is so epic; it starts off with an unreal melodic drumbeat, then all hell breaks loose. The guitar work on this song is speaking to us from the book of the blackened distorted riff, so you better take heed. On song number 5, TO THE DOGS find themselves in a lake of bloody emotion before the water is set ablaze, & your brain is the firestarter. This band is a master at taking their sound to where you would never think they would go. Ambient Light A.G.W. is the perfect balance between our first morning & our last sunset. Don’t get it twisted, TO THE DOGS’ music is pure raw rage created in originality. So here is your job – harass the people over at Winter & Throat for the release date!
