The Vanishing Act

Ottawa’s grind Gods: The Vanishing Act just played their ten year anniversary show.

Instead of pretending I’m some expert on grindcore (I’m not) and embarrassing myself I decided ask Isaac The Vanishing act’s singer/songwriter a few questions.

Darryl: How long have you been a band (I know the ten year thing: is that accurate?)

Isaac: This line-up (more or less) has been around for 10 years, but I did the band with a friend (with a drum machine) for a year before.

Darryl: How do you describe your sound (grind, death metal, metal etc.)?

Isaac: I’d say that we’re definitely grind, though with some other influences.

Darryl: Inspirations?

Isaac: My main inspirations are the first two carcass albums, autopsy, repulsion, and also bands like his hero is gone and pg. 99

Seeing these guys live I felt like that dude in scanners right before his head exploded (in a good way): acoustic trauma never felt so good.
