Disclose remind me of what would happen if William Reid from The Jesus And Mary Chain simply ran out of fucks to give and joined Discharge. These Japanese D-Beat freaks have so much fuzz on their guitars it sounds like broken glass through a buzzsaw, which is perfect. It’s unfortunate that they were so content with staying within the mold of Discharge because they could have been a fantastic band on their own. Even more unfortunate is that in 2007 frontman Kawakami died from an overdose of sedatives and alcohol. Pay your respects and check out their first demo after the fall.

The “DIS era” was certainly one of the great “period” of punk I truly enjoyed, especially all the crusty sound that came out of it. Disclose, Dischange, Dis-whatever … many moved on to become metal bands while others simply disappeared but the amount of anarchistic fueled 7″ and classic anarcho punk artwork produced from that era still remained till today. Beer, Cider and Punk in one sentence was the call of the day. Kudos for bringing up this post 😉
