Drive Like Jehu were a band from the 90s that had a sound all their own. They created some of my favorite noise/post rock, and I rank them up there with Fugazi. I mean, these kids created music from the soul, from the heart, and churned out some really classy timeless music. It’s the way their music made you feel, with the dissident guitars and angular grooves and aggression, but while they were doing all of these things, they did it with a certain level of interaction. Their music had intellect that just made whatever Drive Like Jehu created killer music. When they perform live, what I can see on video anyway, they gave it their all and you always got a sense that this band is comfortable in their own skin. Their music actually made people comfortable being themselves, and they touched a whole generation. They came from great bands and went on to form other great bands, from Rocket to the Crypt to the Hot Snakes. CVLT Nation is happy to gather some of our favorite Drive Like Jehu performances here for you to enjoy…

I miss this band…even though Hot Snakes and Obits are rad, it’s not the same.
