X: The Unheard Music
Documentary Now Showing!

Being a youngster in the 80’s punk scene was the shit, and it exposed me to all kinds of freaks. I remember looking up to some of the older punks because they had certain knowledge about life and the world that they could share with me. I knew some of them directly, but others I just knew through their art. This is where a band like X came into play; they were one of the few old school bands that the hardcore kids gave props too. Going to one of their shows was always fun and would be a night to remember. The members of X were people that I would even see in my neighborhood, where Exene and John would do poetry. This band impacted the L.A. scene on so many levels, from the many girls that looked to Exene for fashion tips, or the fact that they made it okay to listen to rockabilly. Check out this really kick ass documentary X: The Unheard Music that was created in the spirit of the band. This film almost has a collage quality about it that represents how they created their art. Plus it will take you back to a time that was historic, but at the time, nobody knew it was…Nothing but respect for X…now watch the film!

Funny, just picked up the Masterpiece Collection from Porterhouse on vinyl last week. Lost my original vinyl copies years ago so was glad to be able to get remastered versions on 180 g vinyl.
