In 2009, Sean Dunne made a mini-documentary about Paul Mawhinney, the Pittsburgh, PA resident who has the world’s largest vinyl record collection, entitled The Archive. It’s amazing to see how this human has amassed so many records, but at the same time it’s a very depressing tale. I won’t give the whole story away, but I will say that as much as technology has given to this world, it is also taking things away that we will never be able to get back. Sean Dunne is one of my favorite young documentary filmmakers around – his films are always on point! So after the jump, check out The Archive in full!

Oh to have $3 million to take over this awesome archive and preserve it for the future.
I hope it finds a loving home!

USMC Disabled Veteran, truely inspired. I only have about 3000 things in my music collection so far, but I hope to have a museum someday. I have whole bands discographies on vinyl, some on vinyl and cd, and then even cassette.
