From the hollow hills of the Northwest, the forest is awaking & from the whispers in the darkness, I have heard that Wolves in the Throne Room have their arms stretched out with a new offering called Celestial Lineage. This album is completed & will be unleashed onto world Sept. 13th via Southern Lord. Today, CVLT Nation would like to share with you all kinds of rad news from the Wolves in the Throne Room horde, concerning the ocean of creativity that they are about to flood the world with with. It’s an honor to be able to show you the killer album cover art created by photographic artist Alison Scarpulla, plus the package designed by Aaron Turner (Isis, Twilight, Hydra Head Records). The otherworldly, organic layout of Celestial Lineage puts the album conceptually right in line with their previous Two Hunters and Black Cascade releases, and completes the triad. Check this, there is even more news: starting at the end of August, Wolves in the Throne Room will embark on an epic tour all across the U.S. What’s going to make this journey extra special is the d.i.y outlook the band is taking towards this tour – many of the venues will be wooden structures in off the beaten path locations. Some of these specific locations for the shows won’t be announced until just days before some of the shows, where fans are urged to reference WITTR’s official website for exact show locations and/or directions. On a personal level, I’m getting really excited to hear Celestial Lineage, plus I can’t wait to see them live on tour. One thing I really dig about Wolves in the Throne Room is their appreciation for visual arts, especially photography, which can be seen in all of the rad photos that can found of them & nature. So besides the tour details & epic album cover art, make sure to peep some killer WITTR flicks after the jump.
