Although my walls are covered with morbid and grotesque images, although I cloak myself in black and leather, although giant riffs and blast beats fill the air in my environment, to me there is no darker or more evil experience than turning on the news and listening to the latest pursuits of the government suits. This time, Democracy Now has put a spotlight on Lt. Col. Daniel Davis, the high-ranking US Army official whose report on Afghanistan accuses the US government and Pentagon of flat-out lying to the American public and congress about the state of the “war” in Afghanistan. It isn’t surprising that they are lying, they have a long history of deceit and self-interest about their activity in regions around the world. But generally, the accusers are not a member of their own brainwashed ranks. Democracy Now interviews reporter Michael Hastings of Rolling Stone about his recent article outlining Lt. Col. Davis’ unclassified report, and he breaks it down about what Davis asserts about the true state of Afghanistan, and also warns that the Pentagon will lie and cheat to have Davis brought down because of this report. Everyone knows this war is shit and those people can’t be helped. Afghanistan will never progress, they will forever be stuck in the past, a past full of hatred and violence. There is no point for the government to even lie anymore, but hey that’s my opinion.

I agree. The truth is that the US invasion of Afghanistan is just another chapter in the saga of colonial powers terrorizing the people in order to control their land. Same story, different assholes, and the Afghans won’t ever let the invaders “win”.
