THRASHER
Prevent This Tragedy
Video Now Showing!

Fun, or better yet freedom…these are the words that come to mind when I think of skateboarding! There has been one publication that has represented skating from a punk mindset since the 80’s, and that has been San Francisco-based Thrasher magazine. Their editor-in-chief Jake Phelps is an OG hardcore kid from Boston who made it to SF as SSD’s roadie and never left. This magazine has always had a rebellious spirit, and you can tell that it is made by skaters for skaters. The spirit that this mag had in the 80’s is still alive, and without the existence of Thrasher I know skateboarding would not be what it is today. I was watching their 2010 video, Prevent This Tragedy, and watching Ethan Flower do his thing to Sleep’s “Dragonaut,” and said damn, there is so much rhythm in skating. Real recognize real, CVLT Nation recognizes the killer art of skateboarding! So today, we want to share with you 30 minutes of Prevent This Tragedy – it’s pretty fucking awesome. So after the jump, peep some weirdos on four wheels!
