There is a foreign corner of a foreign field that is forever sacred. It extends through bramble and thorn and remains uncorrupted by evil and lies. The field is our only martyr. Fall Of Efrafa dwell from within this field. They might be one of the most ambitious bands to tumble forth from the desolate wasteland. FALL OF EFRAFA is a band based around a reimagining of the mythological and political overtones in the book “Watership Down” by Richard Adams, focusing on atheist/animal rights ideologies, but you needn’t be well versed in a 20th century allegorical book about rabbits finding a new home to appreciate the pummeling strength of Fall Of Efrafa. Their songs stretch out till they are no longer visible and sneak up from behind to drop a cinder block on your head. They combine elements of Post-Rock, Black Metal, Crust, Hardcore and probably Vietnamese Shoegaze d-beat(probably) to form epic illiads of a damned society losing a battle with it’s own cruel nature. FALL OF EFRAFA – LAST BUT NOT LEAST
FALL OF EFRAFA –THE FALL OF EFRAFA
Fall Of Efrafa create epic soundscapes that lead you through a mystic plane alone. They build epic sweeping advances that descend up those unable to defend. The voice howls from behind pillars of revolution, iconoclast leaders to take you to a new home. And like everything wonderful that brings you true happiness, they broke up after about 4 years.
Fall Of Efrafa wrote their albums in a trilogy known as “THE WARREN OF SNARES”. based on the Watership Down mythos – OWSLA, (meaning warrior or defender) the first record, created the narrative of an unnamed society in the final throws of a war against mankind. A society that still clings to the dwindling beliefs of its elders, yet struggles to break free of stagnating ideology. ELIL (meaning enemy, or predator)was there second full length and dealt with these beliefs, and the oppressive reign of religious indoctrination. In this chapter, the society finally overthrows the rule of their god, Frith. The final chapter, INLE (meaning both death, and the name of a deific character within the societies beliefs) is the final recording effort of Fall of efrafa, and also the end of the trilogy. It deals deal with hope, in the face of death. Upon finishing it is believed that they traveled to a new warren to begin life a new.

Thanks jon! I should have known that since Plague Dogs is one of my favorite novels ever, but thank you for the correction! I’ve read it before and loved it and it is certainly fodder in my arsenal for vegetarianism.

Hey – I love your site – just wanted to let you know that “Watership Down” was published in ’72 (solidly 20th c.). You should check it out – in my opinion the best American novel of all time… and after reading it you won’t eat meat for at least a year.
