Today is a special day for CVLT Nation. A young band that we have watched grow over the past year, Young and in the Way, has asked us to co-premiere their stunning new video for their song “The Gathering” from their 2011 album, V. Eternal Depression. It’s an honor for us, not only because we are a part of this band’s rise to infamy, but also because this video, created by John Bradburn & Andy Paton of 93 Million Miles, is visually stunning, and one of the best we have seen over the past year. “The Gathering” is not YAITW’s typical sound – it is slower and more atmospheric than what they are known for – but it is a beautiful composition, and shows the breadth of their talents and their vast potential as a band. With “The Gathering,” Bradburn and Paton have created visuals that are as profound as YAITW’s music; set in the UK’s bleak moors, they film with rich texture and depth, and have created a story of collusion and ominous celebration. The beauty of this video is far better described by itself than by us, so watch “The Gathering” below…
