One band that rubbed some people the wrong way during the early 80’s were Scotland’s The Exploited. Back then, you either loved them or hated them – I won’t front, I was never their biggest fan, I always preferred Discharge & G.B.H. But I was on hand for the ultra-violent Exploited riot that took place in Huntington Park in ’83. It wasn’t the punks who caused the mayhem, but the LAPD who was just out to fucking get us! Then I got to see them at Perkins Palace with the Toy Dolls, plus some other rad bands, but they pissed the crowd off, so we turned on them with heckling, which was fun for us at the time. Some years later, I checked out this documentary about them which made me have more empathy for them as a band. I must say that I couldn’t think of the 80’s punk scene without them. The thing about about The Exploited – Rock n Roll Outlaws is that you get to see their struggle and success. I have respect for them because they have been able to last this long doing what they love! So after the jump, check out the rest of this epic documentary…
