I have a secret resource for creepy art and photography…and they recently compiled an amazing assortment of photographs that embody everything creepy in your dreams and nightmares. Among these photographs, I have selected some of my favorites, some by unknown photographers, and others by photographers like Clarence John Laughlin, Raymond Depardon, Hèctor Pineda, Vance Hernandez, Andre-Adolphe Eugene Disderi, Lucien Clergue, John Rester and Ralph Eugene Meatyard. They range from images of the dead, to unnerving masks, to ghostly countenances, to photos of inmates from a San Clemente insane asylum. They are haunting and emotive, and the viewer will see their own fears or traumas reflected back at them. After the jump, check out the creepiest photo album…

Facinating. This is art. Am I the only one who sees this? I would pay money to own these pieces. Each of them.

Do you know the circumstances behind the last photo? Where it was taken, who the subjects are, the photographer?

It’s been so long since this post first went up I am finding it hard to source this photo. If I come across it I will let you know!
