OK I admit that I am totally fucking addicted to doom & raw black metal, so when music combines both, I get my fix. In my book, the Welsh band GHAST, with the release of Terrible Cemetery works magic with both of these genres. Actually, I think this release is worthy of being called apocalyptic blues. Their music at times seems to slowly be dripping down the wall of your brain. Then, all of the sudden it sounds as if the four horsemen are galloping on your soul. What’s rad about this band is the super sick vocal delivery of the singer. It seems like maggots have eaten out his throat & he is actually bleeding the vocals out of his mouth. GHAST‘s guitar work is otherworldly & very complex. They have this old-school black metal sound to their guitar-playing that’s off the chain, plus they can slow it right down to a funeral march. When listening to them, you can hear the honesty in the what they are creating. Terrible Cemetery is two songs & 29 minutes of blackened happiness. After the jump, check out an epic video & some flicks.
