Scion & Profound Lore present
Ovrcast & Ear/Splitters interviewing
The Atlas Moth

This Saturday, Scion and Profound Lore are putting on a label showcase in Pomona, CA, and CVLT Nation is going to be there for sure! This showcase features Yob, The Atlas Moth, Loss, Wolvhammer, and Pallbearer, and promises to be an epic event. It’s pretty rad that kids are given the opportunity to see these bands free, and this is an event that we want to support so that we help ensure that more of these showcases follow! To celebrate this event, Ryan from Ear/Splitters has done interviews with The Atlas Moth and Pallbearer, and we are stoked to bring them to you here! So after the jump, check out Ryan’s interview with The Atlas Moth, and make sure to RSVP for this Saturday so you can see them live!

Q: Why do you guys have such a goofy band name? Do you geeks collect bugs or something? Set the scene for us.

TAM: Nope. Just sounded cooler than Bless Than Martyrs of Last Autumn Fall or some stupid shit like that

Q: You dudes have been in the studio recently — what kind of mad science have you been working on in there?

TAM: We did a cover of “Black Trees” by this band called Hooray For Earth. It’s coming out on this soundtrack to the new novel by Andrew Bonazelli of Decibel.

Q: You guys have released material on another label in the past but are now part of the Profound Lore posse. What’s it like working with them and what kinds of plans do you have brewing for the future?

TAM: Working with Chris has been a dream come true. He shares a passion for his label like we do our band. We have had a lot of love for Profound even before we were a part of it and now I can’t imagine releasing something on a different label.

Q: Scion be ballin’! They hooked you dudes up with this showcase and are making you look like rockstars. What are your thoughts on what they’re doing for the metal scene?

TAM: For a band like us, literally every penny matters. We don’t make money being in this band so they have been a huge help for us. Not to mention, how can you hate on anyone throwing rad shows and fests and helping out the little guys?
