The Swedish outfit Reveal’s debut LP Nocturne of Eyes And Teeth has been released as CD version by Invictus Productions which previously was released by High Roller Records back in the last year on March. So understandably exciting times ahead for the young Svenskt band as limited- edition LP was sold out within a very short time and now they are picked by one of the respected labels in the industry and why not so! Reveal conquers the range of black/thrash with heavy dose of rock influences and psychedelic vibe to some extent. Reveal, the hometown brother of heavy madness In Solitude, is surely another rising force from Uppsala to contend with.
It’s helluva fun to listen to the album which runs around 30 minutes containing a total of 7 songs. The most intriguing factor is that you can’t actually predict what’s coming next. As soon as you hit the play button, the opening song Under The Temple provides a strange bit of noise until the first chord takes impact and sooner Ghost (not to be confused with Swedish mysterious band Ghost!) unleashes his blackened thrash vocals. It might be surprising for some but Reveal is heavily inspired by The Doors and inevitably psychedelic rock tinge has crept into the music. This takes effect on the title track Nocturne of Eyes And Teeth and later on the sixth- track Murderer. By then interesting turnouts have just started. The fifth- track Blue Demon starts off with a catchy riff and the progression in the song is great accompanied by wraithlike vocals. Coming back to Murderer, the track shows many variations starting from black/thrash to Robert Fripp improvisation and The Doors alike transition. The final track Death which is also the longest is a kind of into- the- face blackened thrash with tight riffing and lead works.
With Nocturne of Eyes And Teeth, Reveal is not breaking any sort of boundaries but the band has shown what they are capable of doing in future. It has given them a platform from where they can truly force their way in. Certainly I’ll be keeping an eye on them and eagerly waiting for the next release. But for now after a long busy day, Nocturne of Eyes And Teeth is a sort of album that you would want to blast in full. So without further ado, stream the full album right here!

first two songs had me kinda thinking it was a stream-of-the-mill, by the fourth these swedish devils had me eating off their filthy-riffing fingers.
