Anyone who’s interested in bleak sonic dystopia and has a little appetite for rather avantgardistic sound explorations, simply can’t have missed the mesmerizing contributions made by the Blackest Ever Black over the last couple of months. The latest proof for the label’s delicate musical taste is the exquisite debut album “Quarter Turns Over A Living Line” by English duo Raime.
The London pair of Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead assembles fragments of Industrial, Techno, Dark Ambient and Drone to form pitch black sound adventures. Restrained percussions guide through a shadowy labyrinth of bizarre shapes, diffuse phenomena and obscure twists.
“Quarter Turns Over A Living Line” was released in November 2012 by Blackest Ever Black on Vinyl as well as CD and can be purchased at Boomkat.
